Alestain's attempts at pretty things
« on: May 04, 2014, 03:43:44 PM »
Not entirely sure where this came from but I felt inspired to try to create some wallpapers. They are admittedly quite simple as I lack skills but thought I'd share them anyway.

I like the first two, though the last one seems unfinished maybe having the Arcane symbol in the blank space on the wall.

Oh, I haven't made any new TSW stuff in a while. I have models for the dragon, illuminati, and orochi that I haven't done anything with yet. I haven't made a templar cross yet as I haven't had time. I should probably make something of them :o
I haven't really made anything TSW related in a while.

I like em all!  (and not just cause I'm an Alestain fanboy)
I think 1 and 3 are probably my two favorites.

not to the more critical response (which I assume would be more useful to you)

I like some more than others, e.g. I prefer #1 to #2,
and I prefer #3 to #4
and I like #5 and #6, though probably 5 better than 6, but I think there is a number 7 which would improve on both of them using the same concept.  I think 5 is really cool, but there's something that seems not quite right.  (fading out the text a little would help I think... it doesn't look like it's really on the wall), but there's something else I can't put my finger on).

hey, is number 5 NYC?

oh wait, I just looked and you didn't actually ask for feedback doh...
well, um... I'll post this anyway...

Haha I appreciate all feedback X don't worry, if I didn't want feedback from you all I would just keep them to myself, so yeah all comments are good and I'll try and improve these (and any others) as I gain slightly more skill.

Saeel - I did actually want to put the arcane symbol there but the only one I had just didn't look right. I'll try to make a better looking one and see if that finishes it off better.

Rmoura - Glad you found a use for one of them  ;D

Al - I wondered if you'd recognise them...If you have more/want to make more please do! I'm sure I can find a use for them hehe

X - First off, nothing wrong with being a fanboy. The doubles of each was me trying out different things with the concepts but personally I'm like you and there is one of each that I prefer. As for numbers 5 and 6 I liked the idea of having our name scribbled all over the real world but neither of them are that great. Like Saeel pointed out 6 is kinda unfinished and 5 - the thing you can't put your finger on might be that the perspective is a little off. The writing doesn't actually line up with the angle of the wall as I haven't figured out how to do that yet lol so it looks slightly wrong, plus yes it's probably a little too 'proper' and not graffiti-like enough.

5 is Houston Street but I've not got a city name so not sure sorry

I'll try to work on some things after the fashion show and I whip my recruiters into shape. Kidding. I don't whip them, they haven't complained too much yet. Then again, the fun hasn't really started either.

I love the last one. It makes me think "even in the darkest places our presence is felt."
